Located in the heart of Jefferson County in West Virginia's eastern panhandle, Rock Spring Retreat is situated just outside of Shepherdstown and less than 15 minutes away from Charles Town and Harpers Ferry.

If mountain elegance and historic charm are what you are looking for, Shepherdstown awaits. It may be one of West Virginia’s oldest cities, but don’t let its age fool you. Shepherdstown has also been named one of America’s coolest small towns, boasting a creative community with galleries, performing art shows and live music. Let the town share its story of American history — many of the buildings were constructed before the Revolutionary War. A walking tour will take you through the highlights. Get out on the water with a kayak on the Potomac River, or enjoy a hike along a piece of the famous Appalachian Trail.

Just a few minutes in the opposite direction, explore quaint Charles Town with a stroll down Washington Street, a visit to the farmer's market, or a fun day at Charles Town Races & Casino. At the nexus of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, Harpers Ferry offers a historic downtown, amazing tubing and rafting, and hiking for all levels of skill and endurance.
